On March 28, the Teresian family in Mexico gathered to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Society of St. Teresa of Jesus in an atmosphere of deep gratitude, joy and sense of community. The celebration took place in the current House of Spirituality of the Teresian Province of Mexico, a space full of history and meaning, which for several decades served as the novitiate of the Province.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n

This house, which over time has had different names and functions, has witnessed the passage of many generations of sisters in formation. Founded in the early 1970s, the novitiate remained active for more than four decades, until, with the opening of the international novitiate in Colombia, it ceased to perform this function and became a space dedicated to spirituality and encounter<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

The date chosen for this celebration, March 28, coincides with the anniversary of the birth of St. Teresa, and was also a special occasion for the community, coinciding with the birthday of Sister Ana Luisa Dom\u00ednguez, the community coordinator.<\/p>\n\n

Alvaro Olivares and concelebrated by four other priests close to the community<\/strong> and linked to its apostolic mission. The celebration brought together about 120 people, including sisters, former students, teachers, collaborators, workers of the house, as well as relatives and friends who, in one way or another, have shared the Teresian mission. <\/p>\n\n

After the Eucharist, those present shared a fraternal moment in the dining room of the house<\/strong>, where a snack, a commemorative toast and the cutting of the cake took place. In an atmosphere of closeness and joy, the sisters sang songs typical of the congregation’s tradition, such as “Todas las que militamos” (All of us who are militant), a<\/em> symbol of identity and belonging. <\/p>\n\n

The celebration was, without a doubt, a significant moment to remember the history lived, to give thanks for the road traveled and to renew the commitment to the educational and evangelizing mission of the Society of St. Teresa of Jesus. An occasion to reaffirm that, beyond the physical spaces, what remains is the shared spirit and vocation of service that unites the entire Teresian family. <\/p>\n\n
