The 150th anniversary of the Society of St. Teresa of Jesus in Our Lady Queen Province was marked by a profound atmosphere of joy, praise, gratitude and commitment. In each place, the celebration became a living expression of a shared history, of a mission that continues to generate life and hope in the communities where we are present. We are now receiving the first news of these experiences, which will certainly continue to grow and multiply throughout this jubilee year.
In Canhe, in the city of Huambo, the feast was celebrated with special tenderness with the children of the Children's Center, in a Eucharist full of simplicity and joy. Also at the Santa Cruz Shrine, the community gathered to give thanks for the journey they had made and to renew their desire to continue educating and accompanying in the way of Jesus. In the Chapel of the Cacilhas Community, with the Interprovincial Novitiate, the celebration was a strong sign of the future, vocation and commitment.
In the city of Lubango, the commemoration took place at the Parish of the Immaculate Conception, with the presence of Archbishop Emeritus Zacarias Kamwenho, together with his contemporaries Sisters Rosa Sánchez and Maria Dolores, in a gathering full of grateful memories. The pre-novices of the St. Anthony community also joined in the Eucharist, reaffirming their journey of discernment and formation.
In São Tomé, the celebration was attended by Dom João Nazaré, bishop of the diocese, strengthening the bonds of communion and mission with the local Church. In Menongue, the sisters celebrated together with the MTA, in a feast marked by the spirit of family, sharing and apostolic commitment.
Finally, at the Teresian School of Viana, in the Provincial House, the educational community gathered to give thanks for 150 years of history, mission and service, reaffirming their desire to continue forming people who are whole, free and committed to transforming society.
May Saint Henry of Ossó continue to intercede for us, so that we may live the gift we have received with creative fidelity, renewing the meaning of our mission every day.
