Although the calendar marked January 27 as the beginning of the celebrations of the 150th Anniversary of the Society of St. Teresa of Jesus, in Chile this beginning had to wait a few months in schools, since in January school activities had not yet started.
Therefore, as part of the feast of St. Joseph, a saint of great devotion and affection of St. Teresa, the schools of the south and north zone have officially started their academic year under the sign of the 150th anniversary of the Society.

Communion in the south: with a mass in the cathedral:
On Wednesday, March 18, the Teresian schools of Los Angeles and Padre Enrique de Nacimiento gathered for a Eucharistic celebration. Not only giving thanks for the new school year, but also celebrating the 41 years of life of the Colegio Padre Enrique de Nacimiento.
The Eucharist, presided by Bishop Cristian Castro Toovey, was a reminder of our mission: to educate in the style of Enrique de Ossó. In his words, we were invited to renew our commitment to cultivate interiority and discover God in everyday life, forming communities that transcend academics to focus on human accompaniment.
The Eucharist was attended by the sisters of the community and Sr. Rosaura Jorge, provincial coordinator. Rosaura Jorge, provincial coordinator. The School Management Team of the Province, which was making a field visit to the schools in the south, also participated in the Eucharist.
Illapel: Feast of friends and encounter with Jesus:
Meanwhile, in the "Norte Chico", on March 19, the educational community of Illapel lived a day of profound joy. The youngest children, from Pre-Kindergarten to Fourth Grade, participated in the "Feast of Friends of Jesus", an event designed to allow the Teresian charism to flourish in simplicity and encounter. Between songs and prayer, the educational community gave thanks for this century and a half of history that today continues to encourage us to do "everything of Jesus".
The students from 5th grade to 4th grade experienced a Eucharist presided by Mauricio Valdivia, Diocesan Priest and Pastor of San Rafael.
We thank the families, teachers and educational assistants of each of the schools for making visible a community united in faith that celebrates with meaning and hope, this inspiration that is already 150 years old.
