We are only a few days away from the start of the celebration of the 150th anniversary of our birth as a congregation. And we are looking forward to this countdown.
On January 27, the feast of St. Henry of Osso, the events will begin in the 22 countries of Africa, America and Europe where the Society of St. Teresa is present today.
The objectives of this anniversary are, on the one hand, to give thanks for our history and, on the other hand, to serve as an opportunity to renew ourselves and project ourselves into the future. We also hope that this celebration will strengthen the bonds between those of us who form the Teresian Family of Enrique de Ossó at a global level.
The motto that will accompany us during these months, "Time is urgent and circumstances are pressing", is a symbolic phrase of our founder. And the logo symbolizes a warp of the history of the Teresian Sisters, woven thanks to the different and unique threads of each of the people who have been part of it and who constitute it today.
The celebrations will include, among other events, cycles of conferences, retreats, community celebrations, international meetings, dissemination of materials on our identity and spirituality, conferences with adolescents and young people and an Ossó Challenge to go on pilgrimage and accompany the life of Enrique. In addition, as every year, the Enrique de Ossó Chair was held in Avila at the University of Mysticism (CITes) in the days leading up to the start of the anniversary (January 16-18, 2026).
Stages and their meaning
The initial "Inspiration" runs from January 27, 2026 to April 2, 2026. In it we will be thankful for the past and for those who have gone before us along the way. The second, centered on "Meaning", extends until August 26, 2026; in it we will give witness to the joy and happiness of being Teresians. It will be a time to strengthen our identity and sense of belonging. The International Meeting of Teresians will be held in Tortosa from June 19-23, 2026, during which the Society will be consecrated to the Virgin of Montserrat. Finally, the third stage will take place between August 26, 2026 and January 27, 2027, where we will look and face the future hand in hand with the entire Teresian Family.
