Community retreats to celebrate the 150th anniversary

Feb 6, 2026

Beginning in February 2026, a spiritual itinerary will begin, consisting of five monthly retreats, which will last until June. This journey is intended to be an opportunity of grace for the whole Society: a time to stop, listen, give thanks and renew, allowing ourselves to be led by the Spirit in fidelity to the charism we have received.

The itinerary will begin in February with a retreat centered on grateful remembrance. It will be an invitation to return to the origin of one's own vocational and congregational history, to recognize God's faithful passing over time and to renew, in the present, the "yes" that one day gave meaning to the call received.

In March, the retreat will focus on the core of the Teresian identity: "Our one desire: to be all of Jesus. Through prayer, teaching and sacrifice, the aim will be to deepen a life unified in Christ, sustained by constant prayer and open to a mission that seeks to extend his Kingdom in the midst of the world.

The month of April will be dedicated to the discernment of the will of God, formulated in the simple and demanding question: "Does Jesus want it? In the light of Teresa of Jesus and Enrique de Osso, a path of listening and trust will be offered to live obedience as a source of inner freedom, peace and fidelity to daily life.

In May, the retreat will invite us to contemplate life as a gift called to bear fruit "to the greater glory of God. From the experience of the Risen Lord who sends us on mission, we will stress the need to remain in Him so that our commitment may be fruitful, cultivating a grateful and contemplative gaze on reality and celebrating the beauty of God in our shared history.

The journey will culminate in June, the central moment of the anniversary celebration, with a retreat that will take up the call to apostolic zeal: "Fire I have come to put on the earth. Returning to the foundational sources, we will be invited to rekindle our passion for the interests of Jesus, to allow ourselves to be inflamed by his thirst for love and to renew our availability to be sent where life and hope are most at risk.

This set of retreats is proposed as a unified journey, lived in the key of silence, prayer and listening to the Spirit, to strengthen the Teresian identity today, renew the joy of vocation and continue to respond, with audacity and hope, to the dream that gave birth to the Society 150 years ago.
