We celebrate Pentecost with the publication of the New Life Charism Booklet

May 24, 2026

On this Pentecost Sunday, we unite as a universal Church to celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit, the one who infuses the diversity of charisms to enrich a community that walks united and synodically. On this special day, in which we remember how the Spirit impels us to speak new languages and to be witnesses of hope, the Society of St. Teresa of Jesus has the joy of sharing with the entire Teresian Family and with the whole world its contribution in the Charism Booklet published in the magazine New Life.

Under the title "Teresianas de Ossó: At the service of the Kingdom as educators," this booklet is an invitation to make known the vitality of a charism that was born 150 years ago from the human and spiritual experience of Enrique de Ossó. Through its pages, we can contemplate how that original intuition of "making Jesus known and loved" continues to materialize today in processes of social transformation through education and Teresian spirituality.

This special supplement is a reflection of our community identity: "we are with others". Sisters from different provinces and contexts have contributed to it, offering a mosaic of what the Society is today in the three continents where we are present: Europe, America and Africa.

What will you find in this sheet?

  • Roots and validity: A journey through the history of Enrique de Ossó and how his mystique of prayer and action continues to be a valid response to the challenges of the 21st century.
  • Global Presence: A detailed map of our mission in the world, which transcends borders to offer guidance and meaning in schools, social centers and spaces of spirituality.
  • Shared Mission and Synodality: The voice of our General Coordinator, Angela Cuadra, who speaks of an expanded "we" where sisters and laity share the same educational passion.
  • Life Testimonies: First person accounts of Teresian Sisters from different provinces who share what it means to live today connected to the "inner Source" to sow reconciliation and unity.

Pentecost is the day of the fruits of the Spirit, and this sheet is precisely that: a fruit of fidelity to a charism that seeks to restore human dignity where life is most threatened.

From the Society of St. Teresa of Jesus, we congratulate the entire Teresian family on this day of Pentecost. We invite you to read this material calmly, to be challenged by his words and, above all, to spread it among family and friends. May the fire of the Spirit continue to kindle in us the desire to be Teresians wherever we are.

Happy Pentecost Day!
