June 20: I Found My Calling. Montserrat (II)

Jun 20, 2026

The meal took place at the Montserrat restaurant, located just a few meters from the monastery. There, after an exquisite meal, another surprise awaited us: a letter from Our Father addressed to the Teresian Sisters of the 21st century:

Long live Jesus and his Teresa in my daughters of the Company and in the entire Teresian family who have come up to Montserrat today.
It has filled my heart with joy to see you all gathered in prayer and at Holy Mass at the feet of the Virgin Mary to give thanks for the countless blessings received during these 150 years of this beloved work’s existence. Blessed Queen of Graces, who took it under your protection and have cared for it with a mother’s love! Today, while you were praying before her image, I asked her once again—as I have so many times before—to look upon you with love, because I know that her gaze will fill you with courage, confidence, and peace.
May you descend from this holy mountain today with a heart that is more courageous and grateful, like that of the Blessed Mother, ready to devote all your strength to whatever best serves the interests of Jesus. Never cease to respond faithfully to the graces He bestows upon you each day, and He will do great things in you, just as He did in Mary and Teresa of Jesus. Take care of one another, encourage one another, work together to renew the world, and always aspire to great things, for God gives His abundant grace to those who place their trust in Him. Nothing without Jesus; everything with Him, through Him, and for Him.
I am accompanying you during these days of pilgrimage. But know that I am always with you. As you have asked of me in your songs, rest assured that I am not letting go of the helm of the Society; I bless you with a Father’s love and commend you to Jesus and his Teresa.
Everything for Jesus.

After lunch, the afternoon began with a meeting with the abbot of the Montserrat monastery, Fr. Bernat Juliol, who addressed all of us present with some warm words:

"It is a gift that Montserrat—a place so dear to Sant Enric d'Ossó—has been able to help and inspire so many men and women whose charisms have become a reality in institutes like yours, which have done so much good for the Church, society, and the world. Each of you carries a story within you: one of following Jesus Christ, of self-giving, of dedication, of human and communal frailty… yet you are there, offering the legacy of the Gospel as passed down through the charism of Enric d’Ossó.” (...)

Back in Tortosa, the day concluded with a time of prayer and reflection on the day’s events, which allowed us to take in the echoes of what we had experienced and recognize the callings each person had received during this experience. The celebration then continued in a relaxed, festive, “chill-out” atmosphere, strengthening the bonds of fellowship that have characterized these days of international gathering.

Today, Montserrat was much more than just a pilgrimage destination. It was a place of remembrance, renewal, and sending forth.

Photos of the day are available here.
